BUT DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT….

With a population of over 90.000 inhabitants and located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, 113 km north of Victoria, and 55 km across the Strait of Georgia from Vancouver, the city of Nanaimo offers natural beauty at every turn with a huge array of recreational possibilities. Amazing ocean views with the stunning forested mountain backdrop of Mount Benson (3300 ft, 1006 metres), Nanaimo has one of the longest shorelines in Canada where one can go from city to wilderness in just a few minutes. From rolling meadows and Douglas fir forests to beaches boasting colourful intertidal marine life dispersed below intricate sandstone shorelines, this spectacular area provides a wide diversity of adventure opportunities just waiting to be explored.

Warm Pacific air keeps the climate on Vancouver Island moderate year round with Nanaimo and surrounding area tucked in the rainshadow of southeastern Vancouver Island. Our annual precipitation is light compared to all other coastal areas and we enjoy many more sunny days than mainland communities. This is our playground and we at Lets Go Kayaking Guided Tours take great pride in showing it off to you with a fantastic selection of sea kayaking adventures ranging from daytrips to multi day guided expeditions exploring Vancouver Island and it’s diverse coastline.
